Junior Hockey Club

The Westside Warriors joined the BCHL in the 2006-2007 season playing in the Interior Conference. The Warriors have advanced in the playoffs all four years with a season starting in September and wrapping up in spring, depending on how long playoff runs last.

They are a family from the office, the coaches, the players and the volunteers with a visible passion for hockey and the community. Customers enjoy working with them because of their willingness to work within the community, whether it’s with non-profit organizations, schools or sponsor events. On and off the ice our players are respectable citizens and work very hard. Local owners Mark & Janelle Cheyne, raising their family in Westbank are committed to the success and longevity of their team.

Our Junior Hockey Team offers several avenues for local businesses to support local hockey and be completely community minded. From rink boards to game nights and our kids club businesses can easily find ways to associate themselves in a fun way with our team.

On the ice we support our players through education and some of the best coaching staff in BC. Each year we send many players onto higher education in the USA and Canada.

Our relationship with the Westside Warriors has been a very rewarding endeavor since they started operations. They have brought an exciting competitive hockey program to our community that has provided me personally with many entertaining nights. I have been a season ticket supporter from the beginning, and am proud to wear my Warriors hat and jersey to games both locally & on the road.

They have also provided the GOOD GUYS with a unique advertising program that works very well with our store image. We have always supported a “shop local” business model, and our ability to sponsor a high profile Westside sports team with many local players on it is fantastic. The advertising presence we have created in the new arena is substantial, as the entire 1000+ fan base knows who the GOOD GUYS are. The billets of the players are regular store supporters, as well as the players themselves periodically stopping by.

We have high hopes for the success of this franchise, as they have become a source of pride for many in our new town of West Kelowna. We hope to maintain our advertising support with them, as we anticipate the community will continue to support business’s that truly do support the Westside.

I've felt very welcome over my first two months with OBE. I'm looking forward to doing my first presentation and joining the baseball team. It's a place where businesses can share ideas and help themselves with friends they've made at the weekly meetings.
